Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. |

the picture says it all. The 155th Speech and Graduation Day. 22 September 2007. i will never forget this day! Reached school at around 2pm. Got to class and started camwhoring. it was really fun. Kevin, me, Adam and Thaddeus Thaddeus and me (rawr, my hair's so short) Ming! Daryl and me! Next we had to be seated in the hall. Our parents were already there. Next, presentation of Sportsman of the Year and Senior Josephian. Congrats to Sameul and Alastair! Speeches given by Roth (head prefect), guest-of-honour and mr. sirhan. Most important point in mr sirhan's speech: "Josephians are not to be served, but to serve" Yeah! Ying Lun, looking at bird in the sky ar! Justin, Adam, Zi Xiang, Elian and me! Pictures that Dad took. Hmm the past 4 years in SJI have been very eventful, and memorable as well. All the times spent together with my friends and classmates. The friendships we've forged. The camaraderie. The quarrels over minor disagreements. The countless number of stupid things we did in class. The times when we made the teachers really angry. And we would gather in the canteen every morning to copy each other's homework. Not to forget, the swimming carnivals, cross-country, the annual Track & Field meet (where we would try to escape from the stadium, but to no avail). And the camps too. Sec1 Orientation Camp, Sec2 Ace Camp and OBS last year. The very first thing that we were taught was the prayer. "Let us remember we are in the holy presence of God" -prayer- " I will continue, O my God, to do all actions for the love of You." " Saint Joseph " " Pray for us " " Saint John Baptist de la salle " " Pray for us " " Live Jesus in our hearts " " Forever! " i can also clearly remember the Sec1 Orientation Camp. First time that we stayed over in school. The class was split into 3 groups, according to register number. i guess the first person i met was Kenneth Quek (kinky!) and next was Raj. And then Daryl. And Ming. And the rest. And... Pok! HAHAHA. We were suppose to introduce ourselves by putting an adjective that starts with the same letter as our names. Pok said " PLEASANT POK " HAHHAHA. i think that's the biggest lie on earth. We didn't laugh then because we didn't know him well. But thinking of it now really makes me laugh. Anyway, towards the end of the camp, we as a class had to come up with a skit. And 3 classes (among the 12 classes) chosen by the HOL had to perform during the campfire. We did some dance thingy which was very hilarious and crazy. (luckily my class wasn't chosen) All in all, the camp was really enjoyable and we made new friends! The first 2 years in SJI was great. There were always the "outstanding" people. Ming! Pok! Isaac! Ruzaini! HAHAHA. They were always getting into trouble with teachers and classmates. Ms Syed was our english teacher. And she gave me my first pink form for not bringing a worksheet. Stupid right?! And there's Brother Jason, my lit. teacher. The first lesson was scary. He spoke in a booming voice and he said something about his "Jasonian torture". And about half the class didn't bring the lit. book. He sent them out, went to the staff room and came back with a stack of pink forms. He gave it to those who didn't bring the book. This scared everyone and he was the most feared teacher. In the end, he didn't submit the pink forms and tore them up. And there was also the pets thing! Pok caught frogs and tadpoles in the pond outside the chapel and kept it in a fish tank. He left the fish tank in class and we declared it our class pet. And Ruzaini brought his hamster and left it in class too. These were our class pets. Then Brother Mike came and said that we couldn't keep them :( OH well! The last 2 years were superb. Sec3 was great. The first time we wore long pants. It was like an upgrade! it felt really good. Especially when we go out. Cashiers would call us "Sir". HAHAHA. And on the street soccer court. Those wearing short pants had to listen to us and the sec4s. Sec3 was a football crazy year. Everyday was football, football and more football. Football in class. Football at the street soccer court. Football along the corridor outside class. Football at the track. Football at the hockey pitch. Football at the carpark. And we got into trouble for ramming in class. Hahaha. Sirhan punished embarrassingly [i shan't elaborate here ;) ] And then there was Dempsey Road. the, oh so perfect field. Team Slayers! YAY! Sec4 was even better, i guess. We were the seniors of seniors in the school! (But that also meant a higher expectation in terms of behavior, manners and uniform..) We were Inter-class soccer champions! YAY YAY YAY! In terms of studies, i wasn't really stressed out. The school's been rather slack, even during the hols. Midyears and prelims weren't very very teh hard (as compared to other schools) What i remembered most clearly was that time when we pon-house meeting! HAHA. We got punished real bad. And it was damn scary when sirhan banged on the windows and doors. oh well. Anyways, we as a class were very bonded. We cracked numerous jokes in class. Did all the stupid things that we could ever think of. Gosh, i'll certainly miss them, you guys and all. i think there's saying that goes, 'All good things gotta come to an end'. Well, the end has arrived. The end of my time in SJI. i cannot travel back in time to visit history, but the memories and experiences will forever be etched in my mind.
